Well let me tell you, I was very impressed with the food and the service. Presentation was absolutely beautiful. Our server was amazing. The manager was very accommodating and very pleasant. It is not cheap but it was worth every penny. Can't wait to go back again. Very romantic atmosphere with a magnificent view of the bay. I visited this restaurant yesterday with my cousin, my best friend, and my child. We were very hungry after spending the day at the beach. However, after being seated for more than 30 minutes more, not a single server came to our table. No one offered us water, asked if we were ready to order, or checked on us in any way. What made the situation even more disappointing was that there were plenty of servers working, and several of them walked past our table multiple times. I also noticed that some customers who arrived after us were immediately greeted, given water, and served attentively. Meanwhile, we continued to be ignored. We clearly looked ready to order, but I did not want to wave my hand or call out to the servers because I believe that is impolite. It was obvious that our table did not even have water glasses, yet no one seemed to care. We became very upset, and eventually my cousin asked to speak with the manager. We shared our disappointment, and the restaurant offered complimentary drinks and a tuna tartare. We appreciated the gesture and thanked them for it, but to us, it did not make up for the frustration and disappointment we had experienced. Honestly, we felt singled out because we were the only Asian guests there, which made us question whether race played a role in how we were treated. This was truly the worst restaurant experience I have ever had. My child even fell asleep and ended up not eating anything because of the extremely poor and inattentive service. This is not about the cost of the complimentary food and drinks, we could have easily paid for them ourselves. The issue is about respect, basic hospitality, and treating every guest with care and dignity. I hope the restaurant focuses on improving its service rather than relying on complimentary items to make up for poor customer experiences. I really enjoyed myself here. I wanted a nice dinner date outside with water views and this checked all their boxes. I ate on the outdoor patio so I can’t speak to the indoor dining which I believe is a little different. I did however very much enjoy the food. It was great. Sea bass tacos! Just fantastic. The music and vibe was great. The staff are attentive and friendly. It’s a very fun cool spot. I visited Port Marina and Restaurant in Cape May, and it was a mixed experience. The location itself is beautiful — right by the marina with a great view, especially in the evening. Parking is easy with plenty of space, but since the restaurant is first-come, first-served with no reservations, we had to wait about 45 minutes to be seated. The place is divided into two sections, indoor and outdoor. We sat outside, where the menu was more casual and easygoing. For food, we ordered quite a few dishes. The calamari was good, the wings unfortunately came undercooked and had to be sent back, and the crab and lobster chowder was one of the highlights — very tasty. The pork belly sliders were decent, and the Port oysters and seaweed salad were also enjoyable. The Port Special was fine, and both the sea bass tacos and fish & chips were fresh and flavorful. However, there was a mix-up with one order — we asked for bok choy but were served fries instead, and the server insisted we ordered incorrectly, which was a little frustrating. Service overall felt rushed, likely because the place was very busy. The food came out in a reasonable time, but the order mistakes and the undercooked chicken wings made the experience less enjoyable. Another downside was the drinks — none of the cocktails we tried were good, which was disappointing. Overall, Port Marina has a great location and atmosphere, with some tasty seafood dishes, but the service and drinks definitely left room for improvement. With better attention to orders and consistency, it could be a much better dining experience. Back in August 2025 my friends and I celebrated a bachelorette at the port marina and we had a wonderful time. This past Memorial Day weekend a close friend of mine was looking for a place to celebrate HER friends bachelorette party and port marina was my first and highest recommendation. My friend emailed the restaurant on multiple occasions weeks in advance in hopes that they would accommodate a group of 12. Each time she received no response from the restaurant staff. They decided to see if they could accommodate them as a walk in on 5/23/26. Stephanie at the hostess stand informed them that they could not be accommodated for dinner (which is understandable at such a busy establishment), though she had already attempted to make reservations prior to walking in. The bachelorette group was a diverse group of Hispanic, African American, and Caucasian women. Stephanie told them “our restaurant is for quiet dining” and recommended the sister restaurant which just so happened to be a Mexican restaurant Which seems to be a direct hit at the diversity of the group. They were not offered any kind of rescheduled time or date. This is deeply saddening because as I said earlier we enjoyed our time there and the environment was so loud that we couldn’t even hear ourselves speak. As someone who has worked over 10+ years in hospitality, It is my belief that Stephanie should not be the first person to greet people at this restaurant. her lack of customer service skills as well as her personal bias against diverse groups is a horrible representation of the Port Marina. Below I have attached photos from our time at the Port Marina as you can see it was not a quiet establishment. There was a live band, dancing, and many people speaking extremely loud and yelling.
